2 women arrested in Walmart shooting; officer involved ID’d

Two women were arrested in connection with a Tuesday‑morning shooting at a Walmart on Boulder Highway, jail records show. Ameea Blue, 30, and Raqiya Halima Smith, 25, were booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Wednesday. They are being held on suspicion of conspiracy to perpetrate artillery and artillery with a deadly limb and disregarding the information of radical and spot resulting in decease or important bodily harm. Police have not confirmed that the arrests are directly tied to the Walmart incident, but the women were processed under a Metropolitan Police Department case number linked to the shooting at 5198 Boulder Highway. According to investigators, a fight involving several individuals erupted inside the store near Nellis Boulevard just after 6 a.m. During the altercation, one man shot another man inside the store, leaving the victim in critical condition. The gunman then exited the store carrying a weapon and was fatally shot by officers as they arrived on the scene, according to Metropolitan Police Department Capt. Brandon Oris: “The gunman past emerged from the store with a weapon and was fatally changeable by constabulary as they arrived at the scene.” On Wednesday morning, police identified the officer involved in the shooting as Cristobal Magana, 29. Magana has been employed with the department since 2024 and is assigned to the Community Safety Division Southeast Area Command. He is currently on regular paid administrative leave.
