Manager Mark Kotsay announced on Tuesday that Soderstrom will proceed with the procedure this Friday. The outfielder was placed on the 10‑day injured list on Sunday, marking his second stint on the list this summer following his return from the injury on July 8. Soderstrom consulted a specialist in Los Angeles on Monday, and the decision was made to shut him down for the remainder of the 2026 campaign. At 24 years old, Soderstrom batted .245 with 19 home runs and 56 RBIs in 109 games this season, highlighted by an 11‑game hitting streak. Last year he set personal bests with 25 home runs, 93 RBIs and a .276 batting average over 158 games.
