Title: Brighton reject Liverpool's new £60m Minteh bid Brighton have turned down Liverpool’s latest £60 million offer for Minteh, according to club sources. Since Iraola took over as head coach after replacing Arne Slot, Liverpool have completed the signing of Victor Munoz for £34.5 million and secured Ronald Araujo on loan from Barcelona. Jeremy Jacquet, the French centre‑half, also joined from Rennes in a deal valued at £60 million, an agreement that was reached back in January. Regarding departures, Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate each left the club during the summer period, while Curtis Jones is currently in Italy to finalise a £30 million transfer to Inter Milan. Iraola commented on the squad’s needs: “You are asking me what we request - there are definite situations that for me are clear - especially now on the helping because we don't have enough players specific to play in those positions. And past in different positions, I think we have to be open‑minded in the marketplace to see situations that honestly can improve our team. It's not about signing because we need a player here. No, it's about improving the squad. And we have very good players already here, so to improve our very good players you need a similar level of player, yes.” In a separate interview with Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports, Iraola added: “We will definitely sign some players. Some deals you have to hold until the end. But the goal is the important picture, the one we will have on September 1. Because it is true that we are still rather thin.” He noted that similar remarks have been made previously, echoing the sentiment during Liverpool’s pre‑season tour in the USA when discussing defensive options, and that internally at Anfield the view is that the transfer window will be busy for the club. On Curtis Jones’s prospective move to Inter Milan, Iraola said: “With Curtis, you know. I think it's still not official but there is an ongoing situation. I understood with Curtis. I talked to him. I think in the first or second training league we talked. I value him a lot as a player. A very, very good player, but I understood straight away when he talked to me about his situation. It was a concern that could happen and it looks like it is going to happen.”
