Tyson Fury said he will ask former President Donald Trump to accompany him to the ring before his scheduled showdown with Anthony Joshua. "I'll definitely make that connection to my old buddy, old pal, and we'll see if he's available," said 38-year-old Fury. He added that the idea seems "Probably improbable due to the fact that of the concern he's successful astatine the moment, being the President of the United States."
The two British heavyweights are set to meet in an all‑British contest at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on 11 December. Fury noted that he and Trump first encountered each other at UFC Freedom 250, held at the White House in June. During that visit the Manchester‑born fighter wore a headdress bearing the words "Donald Trump for Prime Minister" after his US travel ban was lifted by the 80‑year‑old.
Fury described the Joshua bout as a stepping stone toward a third encounter with Oleksandr Usyk. He pointed out that Ukraine’s Usyk twice defeated him in 2024 and remains unbeaten in 25 nonrecreational fights.
Regarding his own future, Fury said he had "no intention" of retiring after the Joshua fight and views the match-up with his compatriot as a "warm‑up for Usyk". He elaborated: "This is simply a bum to me and I can guarantee that on the night, when I sound him spark out, he won't know what time it is. And then I want the rabbit [Usyk] in New York City."
Looking ahead, Fury declared: "This year will be the most progressive year for me since 2018. I've done 12 rounds with a 6ft 8in Arslanbek Makhmudov and I've done 7 rounds with another 6ft 7in behemoth in Mariusz Wach."
He concluded with confidence: "Let's not throw any punches here. I'm firing on all cylinders at the moment. I feel fantastic. I'm 38 years young."
