Golden Knights extend Mark Stone with a 2-year deal worth $9M per season

Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone agreed to a two‑year contract extension worth $9 million per season, running through the 2028‑29 campaign, the team announced Saturday. Stone is set to earn $9.5 million in the final year of his existing deal this season. The 34‑year‑old forward posted a career‑high 73 points (28 goals, 45 assists) last season, helping Vegas reach the Stanley Cup Final before falling to the Carolina Hurricanes in six games. Known for his energetic goal celebrations, Stone has appeared in 400 games for the Golden Knights, amassing 136 goals, 260 assists and a plus‑112 rating. Over a 15‑year NHL career that includes six seasons with the Ottawa Senators prior to his February 25, 2019 trade to Vegas, Stone has collected 259 goals and 447 assists. Injuries have limited his availability, but he has played at least 60 games in each of the last two seasons. If he remains healthy heading into the playoffs, the Golden Knights could mount another deep postseason run with a roster that also features Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner.
