Photo by: Steve Marcus Henderson is expanding its state‑licensed preschool offerings for the 2026‑27 school year in response to rising demand, the city announced. Registration is open now and will remain open until classes are filled. The programs serve children ages 3 to 5. Preschool enrollment in Henderson’s city programs increased 21.84% over the prior year, according to a city release. To accommodate the increasing demand, the city expanded its preschool offerings from 9 classes to 14 classes — a 55.6% increase — for the 2026‑27 school year. Henderson’s ABC ETC half‑day programme and Little Learners full‑day programme are conducted at Valley View Recreation Center, where children develop academic, social and emotional skills through hands‑on learning, teamwork and creative activities. Families can register year‑round, subject to availability. The programs follow the Clark County School District’s nine‑month calendar and are closed on school holidays and staff improvement days. Financial assistance is available for qualifying families through an assistance program administered by the Henderson Redevelopment Agency, according to the city. Only 40% of 3‑ and 4‑year‑olds in Henderson are currently enrolled in a preschool program, city officials said. To address that gap, the city broke ground Jan. 26 on a second preschool and early childhood education center. The 17,000‑square‑foot facility will feature eight classrooms, playgrounds and staff spaces, with capacity for about 160 children ages 2 to 5. It is being built in the rapidly growing Cadence community. The estimated cost for the new facility is $17.6 million, with completion scheduled for 2027.
