High school football is in full swing over the next three days with several Las Vegas-area matchups on tap.

On Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, at 4 p.m., Ray Brewer reported that high school football action is set to unfold over the next three days with several Las Vegas‑area matchups scheduled. A photo accompanying the story shows Arbor View High School’s shot squad — Zac Fares, Kai Cypher and Kamareion Bell — during the Las Vegas Sun’s High School Football Media Day held July 7, 2026 at Red Rock Resort; the image was taken by Christopher DeVargas. Tonight marks the start of league play for numerous Clark County School District schools under a new independent format that allows public programs to compete for supremacy without facing private or magnet schools. The change was adopted during the offseason when public schools unanimously voted to leave the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association for at least two years, following growing frustration over competing against schools without established attendance zones. Headlining tonight’s slate is a local rivalry: Arbor View versus Centennial. Arbor View enters the game winless in three contests against out‑of‑town opponents this season, including a shutout loss last week, but the Aggies — who have reached the state title game in each of the past two seasons — remain regarded as one of the top programs in the new independent structure. Other notable matchups include Spring Valley versus Legacy, Moapa Valley versus Clark, Liberty versus Desert Oasis, and Desert Pines versus Coronado. Check back later for scores.
