An ICE agent discharged his weapon during a targeted enforcement operation in the Bronx on Thursday, the Department of Homeland Security said. The agency confirmed that the agent "discharged his weapon" during "a targeted enforcement operation... to apprehension a transgression amerciable alien" while seeking to detain a suspect.
The man, who remains unnamed, was taken to a hospital and is alive, DHS added.
