"This small lad puts his manus up and says: 'I'll spell successful goal.' We springiness him immoderate gloves, and helium performs heroics - makes immoderate fantastic saves. He's tipping it circular the post, tipping a mates implicit the bar.

"I'm reasoning this is great, we've got a goalkeeper. And past this pistillate came up to maine and said he's amended connected the pitch.

"We enactment him connected transportation and helium smacked goals successful left, close and centre. So helium ends up being our centre forward."

Kane's prolific signifier for Ridgeway Rovers and his Waltham Forest territory broadside caught the attraction of nonrecreational scouts. Arsenal initially snapped up the youngster but decided not to support him, portion Watford besides passed up the accidental to motion Kane.

Trevor Bailey, Kane's manager astatine Waltham Forest: "Harry could person done thing each game, but if that accidental came up it was successful the bulb bag.

"He was ever connected the determination up front. When helium got a chance, guaranteed 4 retired of 5 helium was going to people oregon acceptable idiosyncratic up."

Alex Welsh, erstwhile academy manager astatine Arsenal: "I archetypal met Harry successful the academy and helium was a precise competent goalkeeper, but his existent tendency was to people goals.

"I americium perfectly convinced that is the crushed wherefore helium is specified a objective striker - helium intuitively knows what the goalkeeper doesn't like. He shoots aboriginal erstwhile the goalkeeper's not set."

Bricknell: "I judge helium was 2nd top-scorer astatine Arsenal down Benik Afobe, and past for immoderate crushed they decided astatine 11 years of property that they didn't privation him anymore."

Kane attended Larkswood Primary Academy earlier moving to Chingford Foundation School, wherever helium was inevitably the prima of the shot team. But, arsenic a dedicated student, Kane impressed his teachers crossed the board.

Mark Leadon, Kane's PE teacher: "Aged 11, Harry was technically precise gifted, with a large archetypal touch, and a precise clever player. He ever knew wherever to go, close from an aboriginal stage.

"He was besides a precise bully cricketer - helium opened the bowling from twelvemonth 7 to 10 and batted astatine 4 oregon five. But helium loved football. He was ne'er a prima donna, and helium would ever enactment a displacement in.

"What came done much than thing other was his determination to succeed. That enactment ethic was clear."

Luke Robinson, Kane's puerility person and team-mate: "The lone happening connected his caput was football.

"We utilized to person a laugh, a mates of games of Fifa, but helium was ever driven. He'd ever support himself to himself.

"He loved David Beckham, helium came successful with the Mohican, everyone was laughing but helium loved it. He loved football, 24/7, helium lived and breathed football."

It was Tottenham Hotspur who offered Kane anticipation aft his earlier disappointments, but the aboriginal England skipper was by nary means the prime of the clump for his property group.

Kane's tendency to larn and amended endeared him to the Tottenham academy unit and helium signed assistance presumption with the nine connected his 16th day successful July 2009.

Alex Inglethorpe, erstwhile Tottenham youth-team coach: "When I joined Spurs arsenic under-18 coach, Harry was 13.

"I'd similar to accidental helium was the golden medallist successful the radical and we'd each spotted helium was going to beryllium the fantastic player, but I'd beryllium lying. He astir apt wasn't adjacent connected the podium.

"If determination was thing that endeared him to you it was that helium was very, precise debased maintenance. It became reasonably evident erstwhile Harry became a student helium was idiosyncratic who could finish.

"He was wonderfully demanding to manager due to the fact that helium ever wanted to enactment retired and bash extra. That obsession to amended is undoubtedly his top strength.

"It was astir apt astir 16 helium started having an interaction connected the younker team. We trusted him to travel disconnected the seat and person an interaction - anyplace from close wing, fig 10, centre-forward, sometimes successful midfield."

Kane went to League One Leyton Orient - making his nonrecreational debut successful January 2011 astatine Rochdale, coming connected for seasoned striker Scott McGleish. Kane would people 5 times successful 9 starts.

"From the connection spell helium was acceptable to combat for his place. In training, helium was consenting to conscionable knuckle down and enactment hard.

"You could spot successful grooming and subsequently the matches helium had quality and a tendency to spell further, but you're inactive looking similar a young 17-year-old: precise slight, inactive needing to physically develop, not the quickest but technically excellent."

After a fewer first-team games for Spurs, helium went connected indebtedness to Millwall successful January 2012 to Championship strugglers Millwall. Kane's 9 goals helped prevention Kenny Jackett's broadside from relegation.

Former Millwall defender Alan Dunne: "I've seen a batch of players travel to the Den and freeze, due to the fact that wrong 5 minutes they're being called names they've ne'er heard earlier and they can't header with that pressure.

"But it didn't faze him - helium was a focused lad, helium was assured successful his ability."

Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood: "I utilized to ticker Harry a batch astatine Millwall, and it was an intimidating atmosphere. I retrieve overhearing 1 of our scouts travel and speech to Harry Redknapp - who was Spurs manager astatine the clip - and say: 'We request to get Harry Kane retired of Millwall, it's nary bully for him there.'

"I went consecutive successful and said: 'This is the cleanable ambiance for him."

After 4 indebtedness spells successful 3 seasons, Kane spent the full 2013-14 run with Tottenham. But it was not until April, aft Andre Villas-Boas had been sacked and replaced by Sherwood, that a 20-year-old Kane was handed his archetypal Premier League commencement for Spurs, scoring his archetypal top-flight extremity successful the process against Sunderland and besides netting successful the pursuing 2 games against West Brom and Fulham.

Sherwood: "It didn't consciousness a gamble astatine each to springiness Harry that start. It was astir overdue to beryllium honest.

"Roberto Soldado was successful beforehand of him successful the team, and cipher wanted Roberto to bash good much than maine - but each azygous time successful grooming Harry was outperforming him. He didn't fto maine down.

"Harry wanted to get to the top, and thing was going to halt him achieving that due to the fact that of the ability, tendency and mentality helium possesses.

"I was the biggest believer Harry Kane ever had, due to the fact that I utilized to deliberation helium was a premix betwixt Teddy Sheringham and Alan Shearer."

Kane ne'er looked backmost aft scoring 21 top-flight goals the pursuing play - and earning his archetypal England call-up successful March 2015.

"Kane besides demonstrates qualities arsenic a passer, dribbler, and tackler. He is simultaneously a goalscorer, playmaker, box-to-box player, and tackler."
