High school lacrosse teams across Clark County were looking forward to competing this year as the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association took the steps to make it a sanctioned sport for 2026-27, but it's not happening.

Las Vegas Desert Dogs issued a statement after the Clark County School District placed the lacrosse season on hold. High school lacrosse teams across Clark County had been preparing to compete this year following the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association’s decision to sanction the sport for the 2026‑27 academic year. Despite those preparations, the season will not move forward as planned.
