Las Vegas R&B group 702 will be honored Thursday at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign on the 30th anniversary of their debut album, No Doubt. Clark County Commissioner William McCurdy II will host the 5 p.m. ceremony, which will recognize the group's musical legacy and Southern Nevada roots.

Original members Kameelah Williams and LeMisha Grinstead will attend to accept a proclamation from Clark County. The celebration will also pay tribute to founding member Irish Grinstead, who died in 2023.

"702 carried the sound of Southern Nevada around the world, and they did it with our area code as their name," McCurdy said. "Thirty years later, we are proud to welcome them home and light the sign in their honor."

Named after the Southern Nevada area code, the multi-platinum group released No Doubt in 1996. Motown Records has announced a global re-release of the album to commemorate the milestone.

Thursday's ceremony kicks off a weekend of anniversary celebrations in Las Vegas at the sign, located on Las Vegas Boulevard south of Russell Road.
