The attraction of the so‑called “democratic socialist” platform stems from its reliance on young, poorly informed voters. These individuals resist the notion that everyone should receive benefits such as health care, a guaranteed monthly stipend, nutrition assistance, and childcare without exertion. They desire these provisions yet refuse to undertake the difficult work required to make them attainable. Were they to scrutinize the feasibility, they would recognize that providing such benefits universally is mathematically impossible.
Voters ought to stop supporting candidates merely because they carry a “D” or “R” after their names. Instead, they should examine what those candidates actually propose and how they intend to achieve it. Whatever the policy, it must be feasible. Cease backing the impossible and put in the necessary effort.
