Liverpool have a £50m bid rejected by Brighton for their winger Yankuba Minteh.

Liverpool’s £50 million bid for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh has been turned down. The 22‑year‑old Gambia international has contributed 10 goals and nine assists in 73 appearances for the Seagulls. Minteh arrived at Brighton from Newcastle in 2024 for a fee of £30 million and primarily operates on the right flank. He is currently recovering from a leg injury sustained in a friendly against Roma earlier this month. Liverpool’s stated priority, linked to Andoni Iraola, is to reinforce its wide‑attacking options following Mohamed Salah’s departure, and the club will continue to survey the market for alternatives. Earlier this summer Liverpool secured Victor Muñoz from Osasuna for £34 million; the versatile player can feature as a winger or in a more central role. Paris Saint‑Germain’s Bradley Barcola remains a Liverpool target, but the two sides remain far apart on valuation of the 23‑year‑old French winger, who has indicated a willingness to move to Anfield. PSG are holding out for a fee in the region of £145 million, whereas Liverpool would be more inclined to pursue an agreement closer to the £100 million mark.
