LVCVA happy with results of this year’s five-day sale in September

Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority marketers expressed satisfaction with the results of the five-day September sale that offered discounts on hotel rooms, restaurants, shows and attractions. Chief Marketing Officer Kate Wik told the LVCVA board Tuesday that the promotion accomplished its goal of encouraging more prospective tourists to consider Las Vegas before booking travel plans.

The 'Vegas 5-Day Sale' website recorded 1 million page views from Sept. 22-26, nearly three times the weekly average, and generated 210,000 referrals, nearly five times the weekly average. The sale featured more than 190 offers, up from 160-plus during a similar 2025 promotion. Wik said 99.3 percent of the online traffic came from outside the local area.

The most significant metric — how much visitation increased as a result of the sale — may never be known because room sales and revenue totals are considered proprietary information that many Las Vegas resorts decline to share. Some experts had speculated this year's sale might not match previous results due to higher gasoline and air travel costs stemming from international conflicts, including the war in Iran.

The board also received positive news on the convention front. Chief Sales Officer Vanessa Claspill announced a large new convention has been booked for November 2031, 2032 and 2033.
