Man City CEO 'defiant' over Premier League charges

Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano issued a "defiant" response after nine executives were found guilty of the bulk of Premier League charges, BBC Sport reported. Speaking at a European Football Clubs (formerly the ECA) committee meeting in Copenhagen ahead of the association’s wider assembly on Tuesday, Soriano said he would fight the allegations and warned that the process still has a long way to run. His remarks echoed a letter sent to fans on Saturday by club president Khaldoon Al Mubarak. The Premier League accused City of a wide scope of regulation breaches, centering on claims they inflated sponsorship gross from connected companies and made off the books payments to circumvent fiscal regulations. On Friday, the league announced that City had been found guilty of the immense bulk of the 115 charges brought against them.
