The inaugural Michelin Guide Southwest was unveiled the evening of August 26 at a ceremony held at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. Four Las Vegas Strip restaurants received Michelin stars, while three additional establishments in other sections of the guide earned Bib Gourmand recognition.
Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand was awarded two stars. Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace, é by José Andrés at the Cosmopolitan, and L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon (also located at MGM Grand) each received one star. Three of these four fine‑dining venues had previously held Michelin distinctions; é by José Andrés had not yet opened during the prior occasion when the guide honored Las Vegas restaurants.
China Poblano at the Cosmopolitan—another José Andrés concept—along with James Trees’ Esther’s Kitchen in the Arts District and Yen Viet Kitchen in Chinatown were designated Bib Gourmand, a distinction highlighting high quality at strong value.
Sean Christopher of Joël Robuchon received the Michelin Outstanding Service Award for hospitality. Several other eateries were listed as “recommended” in the broader guide.
