New cake-shake chain opens first store in Henderson

Southern Nevada’s newest milkshake‑and‑cake concept opened its first location in Henderson on Saturday. Shook Shakery held a ribbon‑cutting ceremony at 3360 St. Rose Parkway. The ownership group includes Dena Tripp, a co‑founder of the bakery chain Nothing Bundt Cakes, who stressed that the shake business is independent of that brand. The company plans to open three additional drive‑thru stores in the Las Vegas Valley over the coming months: one on Blue Diamond Road near Decatur Boulevard in the south valley, another on Durango Drive at Post Road in the southwest valley, and a third on Deer Springs Way near Durango in the northwest valley. The Henderson shop occupies a former drive‑thru‑only Starbucks; the other three sites are being built from the ground up. Shook Shakery’s menu consists of milkshakes blended with cake. Perla Iniguez, who works in the leasing office of a neighboring apartment complex, said she had heard about the opening through Nothing Bundt Cakes and wanted to see the “twist on the creamy dessert.” She noted that she had never had a milkshake mixed with “barroom” before and enjoyed the sample she received Saturday. Her coworker Tifani Hall added that after the store took shape in the former Starbucks, they drove a play cart to check it out, saying, “We’ve been waiting.” The stores are designed with a retro theme and Instagram‑friendly photo ops, featuring walk‑up windows and outdoor seating under umbrellas; there is no indoor dining. Dena Tripp said the Henderson location opened the previous week after a friends‑and‑family event and is averaging about 100 milkshakes per day, which she described as pretty good given the lack of formal public notice. On Saturday, Gretel Williams visited with her daughter Alana Williams and a 1‑year‑old granddaughter, commenting, “I’m a milkshake fanatic anyway, so I don’t care however it comes.”
