‘Our family is heartbroken’: Fundraiser names child killed in I-15 crash

A GoFundMe posted Monday by Uriel Castillo identified the girl who died Sunday in a rollover crash on Interstate 15 south of Las Vegas as 7-year-old Aislinne Ramos. Castillo said he was Aislinne’s uncle and that her mother and two brothers were also in the wreck.

“Our beloved 7-year-old niece, Aislinne, tragically lost her life,” Castillo wrote. “She had her entire life ahead of her, and our family is heartbroken that she was taken from us far too soon.”

The Nevada Highway Patrol said a Chevrolet Tahoe was headed north on I-15 between Jean and Sloan around 6:20 a.m. when it traveled through the dirt shoulder, struck two construction barrels, overcorrected, lost control, and collided with a concrete wall before flipping. The patrol said a child who was unrestrained in the back seat died at the scene.

The driver and another child passenger were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Clark County jail records show Natalie Muriel Rodriguez, 36, was arrested by troopers on I-15 at mile marker 21 and faces felony charges including DUI resulting in death, reckless driving resulting in death, and two counts of child abuse or neglect. She is being held without bail.
