Raiders vs. Rams preview: How they match up, injuries, bold predictions

The Raiders will try to snap a three-game skid when the battered Los Angeles Rams visit Allegiant Stadium on Sunday. Las Vegas enters at 3-3, while Los Angeles has dropped three straight after a 3-0 start to fall to 2-4. Kickoff is set for Fox with Chris Myers, Jonathan Vilma and Megan Olivi on the call, and locally on KRLV-AM (920) and KOMP-FM (92.3) with Jason Horowitz and Kirk Morrison.

The all-time series is tied 8-8 in a rivalry dating to 1972. The Raiders won seven of the first nine meetings through 1997, but their only victory in the past 29 years came in 2010. In the most recent matchup last October, the Rams won 20-15 after Gardner Minshew was intercepted targeting D.J. Turner with 1:39 remaining. Minshew finished 15 of 34 for 154 yards with three interceptions, while Matthew Stafford went 14 of 23 for 154 yards and one pick. Kyren Williams rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns for Los Angeles, and Daniel Carlson made five field goals for Las Vegas. Brock Bowers caught 10 passes for 93 yards.

Los Angeles arrives with a lengthy injury report that includes star receiver Puka Nacua listed as questionable with a calf injury. Davante Adams is already on injured reserve, leaving Stafford without two top targets. Stafford leads the league in passing attempts and yards, and defensive coordinator Rob Leonard noted the quarterback's experience: "The guy's seen it all, right? He's great at identifying coverage. They're great at identifying what you're doing and adapting, and he's seen everything. So it's a big ch"allenge. The Rams may lean more on the run game to test a Raiders defense that will have defensive tackle Tonka Hemingway back available.

Both teams view Sunday as a chance to stabilize their seasons. The Raiders hope to stay in the playoff hunt, while the Rams aim to avoid deepening concerns after three consecutive losses to open October.
