UFO info from secret Las Vegas program expected to be compiled for release

The Defense Intelligence Agency has started the process of compiling documents from a secretive Las Vegas-based UFO research program for eventual public release, according to reporting by Mystery Wire with George Knapp.

The program, known as the Advanced Aerospace Weapon Systems Applications Program (AAWSAP), was funded by the federal government through Las Vegas resident Robert Bigelow beginning in 2007. Colm Kelleher, who worked with Bigelow on the project, said the upcoming release could provide crucial context for UFO videos and data the government has already made public.

In early October 2026, the DIA sent Bigelow a letter stating its intent to compile the information for release. Kelleher criticized previous government disclosures for lacking metadata and context, saying raw data dumps are "not very useful as time goes on."

No release date has been set, and the process could take years. Many names must be redacted from the files because witnesses provided information to investigators with the understanding their identities would remain confidential.

Future episodes of Mystery Wire with George Knapp are expected to cover the content of the files being prepared for release.
