UK set to turn cooler as unsettled weather continues

Much of the UK is expected to feel cooler from Tuesday as changeable weather moves in. Parts of the country are likely to see spells of rain, particularly in bluish and occidental areas. The remainder of the week will remain unsettled, with further rain possible. Conditions could become more settled early next week, with temperatures rising above average for some regions, although heatwave prospects appear increasingly unlikely. On Tuesday, central and southeastern England will start relatively lukewarm and muggy, while northern and western districts will begin to feel a bit cooler. The cooler air will then move southeastward ahead of a cold front, bringing a period of rain across England and Wales. Fresher north‑westerly winds will generate showers—some of them heavy—over Scotland, Northern Ireland and the northwestern parts of England and Wales. Maximum temperatures are forecast to be about 5 °C lower than Monday’s readings, ranging from 17 °C to 22 °C across the UK. This aligns with the seasonal average for this time of year.
