The Rebels are tied for 39th nationally with four votes with fellow Mountain West Conference member New Mexico, Georgia Tech and Louisiana.

UNLV did not break into the Top 25 of the Associated Press preseason poll released Monday morning, but the Rebels collected enough votes to appear in the balloting. The Rebels are tied for 39th nationally with four votes, sharing that spot with Mountain West Conference members New Mexico, Georgia Tech and Louisiana. Navy, an American Conference representative, sits 31st with ten votes, while Boise State leads all Group of Five teams at No. 28 with 43 votes. UNLV’s Week 0 opponent, Memphis, received two votes, placing the Tigers 45th in the poll. At the top of the rankings, the Ohio State Buckeyes earned 40 first‑place votes, followed by the Oregon Ducks with 14. The poll was tabulated by 69 media members who cover college football for the AP and other news outlets. The Rebels will open their season in 12 days at Allegiant Stadium, seeking to build on a program‑record 30 wins over the previous three seasons when they meet Memphis on Aug. 29. The College Football Playoff championship game is slated for Jan. 25 at Allegiant Stadium.
