The world-famous Palm House at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew in London is about to undergo a massive makeover.

The Palm House at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew in London is poised for a £66 million refurbishment. The Victorian glasshouse, renowned for its tropical collection, has suffered wear from the hot and humid conditions inside, affecting its ironwork and glazing. Restoration work is scheduled to begin in autumn 2027, with the Palm House expected to remain closed for up to four years. Before the overhaul can start, the glasshouse must be completely emptied of its 1,300 tropical plants and trees.
