A Russian drone struck a train near the Ukraine‑Poland border shortly after former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and senior European officials had traversed the same route. The attack occurred at Yahodyn, hitting the locomotive; Ukrainian authorities said all passengers were evacuated and no casualties were reported.
Johnson, together with UK national security adviser Jonathan Powell and other European security officials, had used the line earlier that day while returning from a meeting in Kyiv. BBC correspondent James Landale noted that the strike could signal an escalation in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
