A 50‑year‑old Las Vegas woman died Monday after a two‑vehicle collision in the central Las Vegas Valley, the Metropolitan Police Department announced Wednesday.
The crash occurred shortly after 1:15 p.m. on Aug. 18 on South Eastern Avenue, just south of the Pueblo Way intersection and Desert Inn Road. According to investigators, a northbound 2023 Kia Telluride was struck when the driver of a southbound 2014 Nissan Sentra drifted out of their lane and collided with the Kia.
Both occupants were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. The Nissan driver was admitted for treatment, while the Kia driver received care and was released later the same day. Authorities said there was no evidence of impairment involving either driver.
The woman’s death raises the total of traffic‑related fatalities in Metro Police’s jurisdiction to 84 for 2026. The incident remains under active investigation by the department’s Collision Investigation Section.
