Henderson police responded to a fatal two-vehicle collision Tuesday night on Lake Mead Parkway, about half a mile east of the Lake Las Vegas entrance. Officers arrived around 8:25 p.m. and found one driver dead at the scene. The other driver was taken to a local hospital. Police said each vehicle had only the driver inside.
Lake Mead Parkway remains closed in both directions between Lake Las Vegas Parkway and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area entrance station. Authorities expect the closure to last for an extended period while they investigate.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes. The investigation is ongoing.
