2 killed in fiery, wrong-way crash at edge of northwest Las Vegas

Two people were killed in a fiery wrong‑way crash on the outskirts of northwest Las Vegas on Friday night, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The collision occurred at 11:28 p.m. on northbound U.S. 95 at mile marker 99, the Snow Mountain interchange. NHP reported that the crash involved an SUV and a sedan. The driver of the sedan was described as “traveling southbound successful the northbound (wrong way) question lanes anterior to striking the sedan,” the agency said in a statement. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV operator’s identity, including gender, has not been released because of a vehicle fire, police noted. The sedan driver was identified as an adult male. A passenger in the sedan was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. All northbound lanes of U.S. 95 remain closed at mile marker 96, near Kyle Canyon Road. The highway will stay shut for an undetermined period, NHP added. This is a developing story.
