A 16‑year‑old girl identified as Kassandra Orozco was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Thursday on suspicion of murder, attempted execution and conspiracy to commit murder, making her the second person arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred earlier in East Las Vegas. Jayden Torres, 19, was taken into custody the day before on the same charges, according to jail records. Court documents show that Clark County prosecutors have since filed a complaint charging Torres with one count of open murder. The Metropolitan Police Department issued a press release Thursday regarding Torres’ arrest. While police have not publicly named Orozco as a suspect in the killing, she was processed under the same case number as Torres. Officers responded Saturday to a report of an unresponsive male near South Hollywood Boulevard and East Park Access Road. The victim, whose identity had not been released as of Friday, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was found in an area adjacent to Hollywood Regional Park, bounded by East Charleston Avenue and East Sahara Avenue. Investigators have not disclosed what links Torres and Orozco to the incident or any possible motive. A police lieutenant previously said the victim had been at the park with friends that morning, but those companions were not present when his body was discovered. Torres remains in custody without bail. Orozco is scheduled for an initial appearance in Las Vegas Justice Court on Friday morning.
