‘All great memories’: Golden Knights celebrate 1st season with alumni

Former Golden Knights players Gerard Gallant, James Neal, Ryan Reaves, Deryk Engelland and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare attended a practice at City National Arena on Friday as the team honored its 2017-18 inaugural roster. The session drew fans who arrived as early as 7 a.m. for a free autograph opportunity.

Neal, who coined the 'Golden Misfits' nickname, said, 'All great memories. Things haven’t changed.' Reaves added, 'Some of my best years, some of my favorite years of my career are over here. It’s fun to come celebrate with the fans and see the boys out there.'

The Knights will wear their original gray sweaters one final time during Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Kings at T-Mobile Arena, marking the 10-year anniversary of their first home game. A Fan Fest will follow at Paramount+ Plaza from 4-6 p.m. for those who missed the arena event.

Only William Karlsson, Shea Theodore and Brayden McNabb remain from the 51-win inaugural team that reached the Stanley Cup Final. The franchise cited the bond formed after the Route 91 Harvest festival shooting as a key motivation during that historic season.
