Gabriel Rivera, 23, was arrested Monday in Menifee, California, by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department on suspicion of involvement in the fatal shooting of Edward McClellan in east Las Vegas. According to a Metropolitan Police Department release, Rivera was booked into the Riverside Southwest Detention Center awaiting extradition to Nevada.
Las Vegas police said officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and a 911 call at approximately 4:30 a.m. on August 5, arriving at the 4500 block of East Ogden Avenue, near the intersection of Charleston and Lamb boulevards. There they found McClellan, 39, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the scene. The Clark County Coroner's Office determined the cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds and classified the killing as a homicide.
