Ashton Jeanty said he is feeling great and ready to go after dealing with a foot ailment that nearly kept him out of last week’s game against the Patriots. He admitted it’s tough but said injuries are part of playing sports and he must continue to take care of his body and work through it.
Jeanty has appeared in all five games this season, ranking seventh in the league with 88 carries, but is 16th in yards with 291 and averaging 3.3 yards per rush. The Raiders as a team have a league-worst 3.0 yards per carry and are 29th in rushing yards.
Offensive coordinator Andrew Janocko said the team is looking to generate more production within the scheme and grow with every facet of the offense, not just the run game. He credited the medical, training and strength staffs for handling Jeanty’s injuries and the team’s health needs so coaches can focus on coaching.
Coach Klint Kubiak strongly asserted that Jeanty will play against the Bills on Sunday, saying Ashton is really starting to feel a lot better physically and that he’s excited about giving him even more reps in practice, more full speed reps.
