Clark County unveils new 24/7 microchip pet scanning stations

Clark County has unveiled new 24/7 microchip pet scanning stations at community centers across the county to help reunite lost pets with their owners. The stations are solar-powered and equipped with microchip scanners, allowing anyone who finds a lost pet to quickly check for identification. As of October 2026, stations are located at the Walnut Community Center, Silverado Ranch Community Center, and Cora Coleman Senior Center.

The scanning stations are accessible seven days a week, 24 hours a day, and include instructions on how to use the scanner. Instructional videos are also available online for those who need guidance. Residents are encouraged to use the stations to scan found pets and contact owners faster.

Additional stations will be added in the coming months, with a total of 15 planned across all districts in high-traffic areas where Animal Protection Services frequently responds to found-pet reports. An interactive map on the Clark County website helps residents locate the nearest station.

If someone cannot house a lost pet until the owner is found, they are advised to reach out to neighbors or a local animal rescue. Found-animal appointments can be scheduled with The Animal Foundation at 702-760-PETS (7387), or Animal Protection Services can be contacted at 702-455-7710. The county reminds residents that leaving an animal unattended or abandoned is a crime and should be reported if observed.
