Bizarre Bar might be reshaping nightlife in Downtown Las Vegas

Owner Tim Kam, whose reputation extends from his long‑standing involvement with Oddfellows, describes the venue as an extension of himself rather than a typical business venture. “Doing Bizarre Bar is my lone mode to truly pass with this world,” Kam says. “It’s an hold of me.” The bar’s aesthetic emerged from collaboration with local artists, craftspeople and friends. Vintage frames line the walls, chandeliers sourced from neighborhood sellers hang overhead, a miniature pony rhythm occupies a corner and hand‑built teeter‑totters dot the patio. Weekends adopt rotating personalities: Fridays feature themes that swing from emo and goth to disco and indie sleaze parties, while the patio hosts Sonidero’s Latin night with DJ Edwin Lazer and Kumbiadarks. Saturdays transition into an open‑format gathering, showcasing rotating local DJs who introduce fresh selectors to the crowd. Weekdays accommodate live music bookings, wrestling events, viewing parties and other offerings that stretch beyond conventional nightlife, as Kam continues to expand the performance schedule. As the evening progresses toward late night, Kam observes a palpable acceleration in energy.
