A jury last month cleared the YouTuber of several sexual assault offences, but it couldn't reach a decision on three others,
British rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is set to face a retrial on rape charges in Australia. The charges stem from an alleged incident after a nightclub performance in Perth in 2024, in which a 20‑year‑old woman accused him of repeatedly raping and assaulting her. He denied all ten counts.
Last week a jury acquitted him of three counts of sexual penetration without consent, as well as one assault charge and a separate strangulation allegation. However, the same jury found him guilty of two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm; sentencing for those convictions will follow the retrial.
The West Australian court heard that the 31‑year‑old social media personality had consensual contact with the woman in his hotel room before she said he became violent and ignored her pleas to stop.
Barrientos is due to appear in court on 27 August for an application to vary his bail. A date for the retrial has not yet been set.
