Coroner identifies suspect killed in gunbattle that also left Metro officer dead

The Clark County coroner’s office identified the shooter killed in a gunfight that also claimed the life of a Metro police officer. According to an online database, 21‑year‑old Angel Tywan Lucas Lindsey was pronounced dead on Tuesday. The filing related to Lindsey corresponds to the information previously supplied by a regional spokesperson, who linked the individual to the police shooting. Lindsey’s cause and manner of death remain pending, the records show. Authorities reported that Austin “Zade” Abdelnabi answered a call about an armed man at 3:57 p.m. near the 4500 block of East Tropicana Avenue. The suspect, later identified as Lucas Lindsey, was subsequently located in the 5400 block of Mountain Vista Street, adjacent to Interstate 11. Metro Sheriff Kevin McMahill stated that the suspect ambushed Abdelnabi before being shot and killed by officers. In addition to Abdelnabi, a second Metro officer, Enrique Molinet, 29, was involved in the exchange of fire, police said. Abdelnabi, a former U.S. Marine who joined Metro in 2023, and Molinet, who joined the department in 2022, are both members of the force.
