Former Raiders RB Jacobs pleads no contest to misdemeanor battery charge

Former Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs entered a no‑contest plea Thursday to a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from a May altercation with his girlfriend, according to court records. He was arrested May 26 after Hobart‑Lawrence police responded to a disturbance at his residence. Jacobs’ girlfriend told officers she suffered a lump on her head as a result of his actions, police said. Jacobs was formally charged in late August. Under an agreement with prosecutors, he will pay a $1,000 fine for the battery offense. The court will suspend proceedings on a related criminal mischief charge for 12 months; if he complies with the terms of the agreement, that charge will be dismissed at the end of the period, his attorneys said. The NFL subsequently placed Jacobs on the commissioner’s exempt list, which bars him from playing or practicing but permits him to continue receiving his salary. With the club’s permission, players on the exempt list may attend team meetings, conduct individual workouts, receive therapy and rehabilitation, and engage in other non‑football activities at the facility. Jacobs comes off a 2025 season in which he gained 929 rushing yards and scored 13 touchdowns.
