The wait is over.

High school football kicks off across Nevada today as teams take the field with championship dreams.

Ten games highlight tonight’s slate, headlined by a marquee matchup between two notable programs. Las Vegas travels to face Palo Verde in the latest chapter of a rivalry that dates back to their memorable 2004 state championship clash.

Several other contests should deliver closely-contested action: Canyon Springs battles Basic, while defending Class 3A state champion Slam Nevada squares off against Desert Oasis.

Meanwhile, Virgin Valley ventures into Utah to take on Hurricane in a true road test. And Foothill adds to the interstate flavor by hosting California’s Milliken from Long Beach.
