Gameday: Raiders host Chiefs in undefeated clash
Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026 | 2 a.m.
The Raiders have not led the AFC West prior to Week 3 of an NFL season since relocating to Las Vegas in 2020.
That could change starting at 1:25 p.m. PT today, when Las Vegas aims to defend its home field at Allegiant Stadium and silence the Kansas City Chiefs in a game airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
It won't be easy.
The Chiefs aim to return to their customary title form, having opened 3-0 to enter the fourth favorite to win the Super Bowl according to section sportsbooks — behind only the Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers.
But they may not be accustomed to a road contest at the Raiders' level of difficulty. Las Vegas is also 3-0 and, for the first time ever, less than a touchdown underdog to a Patrick Mahomes–led Kansas City side.
The Chiefs are a 4.5-point favorite in the game after previously always being at least -7.5 at the Raiders with Mahomes. The two-time Most Valuable Player is 6-0 at Allegiant, including a Super Bowl 58 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in February 2024.
The Raiders will look to make squad history in multiple ways in one of their biggest games in years.
**Favorable matchup:** *Raiders’ secondary vs. Chiefs’ receiving corps*
Neither 2024 first‑round pick Xavier Worthy nor 2023 second‑rounder Rashee Rice, the Chiefs’ top two receivers, have quite lived up to their draft stock. With a combined 273 yards on 23 receptions, the duo has been simply decent so far this season. In a notable surprise, the Raiders’ defensive backfield has outperformed that group and will welcome a starter back Sunday after rookie cornerback Treydan Stukes cleared concussion protocol. The New Orleans Saints targeted and found success going up against Stukes’ backup, Isaiah Pola‑Mao, in the Raiders’ 35‑27 win in Week 3. They also went after rookie cornerback Hezekiah Masses, though he held up well and even snagged his league‑leading third interception of the season. Stukes has the Raiders’ other interception this year, from a 27‑13 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. There was debate over whether Masses would retain his starting role over Darien Porter, who earned the spot in training camp before suffering an injury against the Dolphins, but with Stukes healthy there is no question. He is clearly the Raiders’ best free safety option. Stukes and fellow safety Jeremy Chinn will often match up with 14‑year‑old superstar tight end Travis Kelce, who has lost a step of quickness but still leads the Chiefs’ offense with 14 catches for 231 yards this year.
