High school football teams across Nevada are settling into league play this week.

This is when wins start to matter for playoff seeding, especially when it comes to hosting home games in Class 3A and Class 4A. The picks column went 11-8 last week and stands at 75-38 on the season.

Here’s a look at the Week 7 games.

Liberty at Foothill

Liberty will run for 200 yards and easily win their Class 5A opener. Liberty 32, Foothill 13

Faith Lutheran at Desert Oasis

I’m buying Desert Oasis — just not this week. Faith Lutheran 23, Desert Oasis 22

Cadence at Mojave

Mojave makes quick work of Cadence. Mojave 42, Cadence 0

Rancho at Silverado

Here’s another game that will unfortunately be on a running clock before halftime. Silverado 48, Rancho 6

Durango at Clark

This game shouldn’t be close — but it will be. Clark 25, Durango 19

Chaparral at Valley

A first win narrowly eludes my Cowboys. Valley 14, Chaparral 12

Canyon Springs at Arbor View

Arbor View’s offense was clicking last week against Faith Lutheran. Expect another high-scoring effort. Arbor View 47, Canyon Springs 13

Spring Valley at Sloan Canyon

Sloan Canyon should be in Class 5A, where it would contend for the Open Division playoffs. Sloan Canyon 50, Spring Valley 8

Del Sol at Sierra Vista

Speaking of teams who might be miscast in Class 4A. Sierra Vista 40, Del Sol 0

Losee at Palo Verde

Make it three straight for Palo Verde. Palo Verde 30, Losee 24

Bonanza at Cimarron-Memorial

Bonanza makes it three straight wins. Bonanza 19, Cimarron-Memorial 17

Western vs. Slam Nevada

This is the time of the season when Slam starts stacking wins. Slam 40, Western 0

Cheyenne at Eldorado

Eldorado wins another close game. Eldorado 19, Cheyenne 17

Desert Pines at Legacy

Desert Pines is young and talented. Desert Pines 30, Legacy 19

Shadow Ridge at Citrus Valley (Calif.)

Some feel Shadow Ridge has the second-best team in town. Liberty surely disagrees. Arbor View too. Shadow Ridge 32, Citrus Valley 17

The Meadows at Moapa Valley

Having The Meadows in Class 3A doesn’t make sense. But neither do other realignment decisions. Moapa Valley 43, The Meadows 0

Virgin Valley at Pahrump Valley

Closer than you think. Pahrump is good — but so are other teams in Class 3A. Pahrump Valley 32, Virgin Valley 25

Mater East at Sunrise Mountain

Mater East is going to be a tough out come playoff time. Mater East 27, Sunrise Mountain 16

Green Valley at Las Vegas

Anyone have a coin? Las Vegas 32, Green Valley 31

Bishop Gorman at Santa Margarita (Calif.)

Another week, another top-10 opponent for Gorman. And another close outcome. Gorman 30, Santa Margarita 26
