GIDDY UP

Rouge Room ropes us in yet again with Rouge Roundup, a honky-tonk takeover with live country music, a mechanical bull and Southern-inspired sips from a custom cocktail menu. The chic cocktail lounge, which Las Vegas Weekly crowned “Best Nightlife in the Burbs,” launches Rouge Roundup on August 21, with the party continuing every Thursday at 8 p.m. Don your best boots, and tip your servers and your cowboy hats to local country artists Harmony Shay and Sierra Black, who will kick off the night, with DJ Lucky Lou manning the decks. Las Vegas graphic designer Blaze Brooks also made a special collection of merch for the party, so you can boot stomp in style.

Saddle up, because there’s more where that came from. Bel-Aire Backyard has also announced Neon Rodeo, a poolside dance party fusing EDM and modern country classics. Go-go dancers will heat up to a mashup of tunes, with cryo blasts electrifying the crowds. The event kicks off on September 26 and returns October 10, right before fiery female-led rock band The Beaches perform at Bel-Aire Backyard on October 12. Tickets are on sale now at axs.com.

ON THE SCENE

Local trio Twist Off! (formerly known as White Noise) has entered its hardcore punk era with a new self-titled LP brimming with attitude, aggro riffs and frontman Kaesen Samson’s wrenching howl (available on streaming platforms). The band set sail across the pond for a UK tour earlier this month, performing at Blackpool’s Rebellion Festival with Vegas teen punk band the Dollheads, who’ve been touring outside of the country since high school.

The Dollheads will host its own album release party for Adol-essence, a follow up to 2023’s Et Cetera, at The Space on August 22 with Wyatt and the Ashes, Subsanity and Open Letter. (Tickets are available at thespacelv.com.) As a sample of what’s to come, check out the band’s “Burger King Is Hiring” music video, which stars the teens rocking out in a fast-food joint with local rapper Pathogen.

Post NC has also emerged from the studio with a new LP titled, Greatest Xmas Hits Vol 2. The improvisational jams on this record have fans feeling exceptionally merry and bright. It’s a seven-song sampler filled with flavorful solos, bright keys and intuitive time keeping that showcases just how in tune these bandmates are with one another. The album is available on streaming platforms and Bandcamp.

ON SALE

It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas. Rockstar violinist Lindsay Stirling returns with her annual Snow Waltz tour on December 10, bringing three nights of holiday merriment and music to the Venetian. Tickets go on sale August 22 at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com.

After a years-long break from the spotlight, Chicago emcee Chance the Rapper has announced the And We Back tour in support of his new album, Star Line. The 15-city run lands at BleauLive Theater on October 18, marking one of the few times Chance has performed in Vegas outside of a festival setting. Tickets are available on ticketmaster.com.

Speaking of artists returning to the limelight, Jessica Simpson will kick off an exclusive show at PH Live on November 8. The ’90s pop singer dropped the country-coded Nashville Canyon, Pt. 1, her first EP in 15 years this March. Simpson’s baby sister, Ashlee Simpson-Ross, who performed MTV-era hits like “La La” and “Pieces of Me,” also brings her first headlining residency to Voltaire on August 29, with shows extended through September. (Tickets are available at voltairelv.com.) Nostalgia certainly has its place on the Strip.

And in case you missed it, the fourth annual When We Were Young emo and pop-punk fest has announced its side gigs—and they’re selling out fast on ticketmaster.com. Friday, October 17 features a stacked night of nostalgic bands and special guests, including Taking Back Sunday at BleauLive Theater; Ice Nine Kills at The Pearl; Story of the Year and the Cab at Brooklyn Bowl; and The Story So Far at Area15. After the festival wraps, Emo Night Brooklyn commences at Brooklyn Bowl, with Sleeping with Sirens’ Kellin Quinn and Mayday Parade’s Derek Sanders on October 18; and Kevin Otten of Knocked Loose, Allen Steinberg of Arm’s Length and the Paradox on October 19.
