Justin Bieber filmed his latest music video in a Dundee pub

When you're working in a Dundee bar on a Saturday night, a visit from Justin Bieber is the last thing you'd expect.

Manager Rae Wright had to do a double-take when the pop superstar and his entourage "waltzed in" to the Abandon Ship pub.

The Canadian singer was so impressed with the venue that he filmed an impromptu music video.

The video has now been viewed more than 3.7 million times, and footage of locals drinking with Bieber has been circulating widely on social media.

The 31-year-old, who flew into the city by private jet on Thursday, was also seen over the weekend playing golf at St Andrews and Gleneagles.

Justin Bieber was spotted in the Abandon Ship at the weekend

Bar manager Rae Wright said the superstar came into the city centre pub asking if there was DJ equipment he could use.

She said: "It was just a standard Saturday night and then he waltzes in with three or four people.

"He put his speaker on, set the place up, put a couple of lights on and then he just started filming."

Rae was initially unsure if it actually was the singer.

Bar manager Rae Wright said the singer happily chatted to staff and customers

She said: "I'm used to the baby Justin Bieber with the hair flick and stuff, but obviously I've followed him a little bit.

"But no-one walks around Dundee in a green beanie looking like that.

"And then my manager gave me the side eye that said, no this is really the Biebs."

Rae said Bieber was "lovely" and happily spoke to the bar staff and customers.

She said: "He chatted to the bar staff like we were actually people, which a lot of people don't seem to do.

"It will be nice when we've actually processed it all and think, wow, Justin Bieber was here."

Bieber has spent several days in Scotland

Bieber posted the video to his social media channels on Monday night with the message "Bad Honey video for your headtops".

The bar shared the video on its Facebook page, posting: "You might have heard we had a special visitor over the weekend.

"Enjoy Justin Bieber laying down a new video for Bad Honey live at Abandon Ship right here in Dundee, Scotland."
