Lady Rebels' Meadow Roland claims Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year By Ray Brewer On Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026 | 7:58 a.m., the Mountain West announced that UNLV junior Meadow Roland has been selected as the league’s Preseason Player of the Year. The 6‑foot‑2 guard averaged 15 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game last season after earning Freshman of the Year honors in 2024‑25. The Lady Rebels, winners of four of the last five regular‑season conference titles, were picked to finish atop the preseason media poll. UNLV received 16 of 22 first‑place votes and accumulated 193 points. Grand Canyon, which garnered five first‑place votes, was picked 2nd and appears to be UNLV’s toughest challenger. UC Davis, Hawaii and New Mexico round out the top five, with New Mexico claiming the remaining first‑place vote. Additionally, UNLV guard Jasmyn Lott earned a place on the preseason team. Lott averaged 12 points per game last season and led the team in three‑point shooting at 38%.
