UNLV is seeking to sell a 10.2‑acre parcel adjacent to its main campus for approximately $39.9 million, the university announced Wednesday. The vacant lot sits at the southeast corner of Tropicana Avenue and University Center Drive, just east of the Thomas & Mack Center and about 1.5 miles from the Las Vegas Strip.
The property previously housed UNLV’s Paradise Campus and, before that, Paradise Elementary School. A Board of Regents briefing paper noted the site contained six structures, four of which were erected in 1949, and described them as “obsolete, hard and costly to maintain, and agelong past their utile life.” UNLV leased the land from the Clark County Department of Aviation from 1998 to 2008, then assumed ownership through a property exchange with the agency. Demolition of the former campus buildings was completed around spring 2024.
UNLV values the land at roughly $4 million per acre
