Las Vegas Police make arrest in homicide that occured eariler this month

August 16, 2026 - 3:16 pm Metropolitan Police Department made an apprehension linked to a homicide that occurred earlier this month at East Bonanza Road and North Lamb Boulevard. On Saturday, Metro identified 21-year-old Francisco Chairez-Hernandez as a suspect in the case. Hernandez was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for Open Murder with a Deadly Weapon, Attempt Murder with a Deadly Weapon, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Discharge a Gun at/into an Occupied Structure or Vehicle. The homicide, which took place earlier this month, came after Metro officers responded to a female with an evident gunshot wound; she was later pronounced deceased at a hospital.
