Police in the West Midlands investigating a racially motivated rape have arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the incident.
The woman, in her 20s, reported being attacked by two men on Tuesday morning near Tame Road in Oldbury.
West Midlands Police said a man was detained on Sunday evening and remains in custody.
Chief Superintendent Kim Madill said: "This is a significant development in the investigation and we want to thank the community for their continuing support."
He added: "The investigation remains ongoing and we would urge people not to speculate as we work to identify and trace all those who may have been involved."
Police said the alleged victim is "continuing to receive support as investigations continue".
The arrest comes hours after members of the Sikh community gathered in protest over the incident.
The victim, who has a right to anonymity, released a public statement through the Sikh Federation (UK) on Sunday.
West Midlands Police had previously said they were looking for two men and wanted "to speak with anyone in the area who may have seen" them.
