Cooper Flagg will make his debut in a Dallas Mavericks jersey in exactly two weeks.

The consensus No. 1 pick of the 2025 NBA draft will compete in the league’s annual Las Vegas Summer League on July 10 in a marquee matchup between the Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers, ESPN announced Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

The Lakers are headlined by 2024 second-round pick Bronny James, who just finished his rookie season. However, all eyes are certain to be on Flagg — the versatile Swiss army knife forward who possesses an array of talents on both ends of the floor.

Flagg averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks in one season at Duke.

A clash between the Mavericks and Lakers’ summer squads could be foreshadow marquee matchups between the varsity teams during the 2025-26 season. The two franchises shocked the basketball world in February when they agreed to a blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic to Los Angeles, while Anthony Davis and Max Christie were acquired by the Mavericks.

A matchup between the second and third overall picks in the draft will commence following Flagg’s debut as the San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia 76ers are the second part of ESPN’s doubleheader. Rutgers guard Dylan Harper was drafted second by the Spurs on Wednesday night, while Baylor’s VJ Edgecomb was selected third by the 76ers.
