Men arrested after shooting of off-duty Las Vegas officer

Two men were taken into custody in relation to the Sept. 21 shooting of an off‑duty corrections officer in the westbound Las Valley. In a statement, the Metropolitan Police Department said Guadalupe Ramirez, 48, and Agustin Ramirez, 51, were arrested Monday. Guadalupe was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of conspiracy to perpetrate murder, attempted execution with a deadly limb (3 Counts) and discharge of a weapon at/into an occupied operation (5 Counts). Agustin was apprehended by California law‑enforcement officials and booked into the Los Angeles County Jail, pending extradition to Las Vegas, where he will be charged with conspiracy to perpetrate murder, attempted execution with a deadly limb (3 Counts), discharge of a weapon at/into an occupied operation (5 Counts) and carrying a concealed limb without a permit. Surveillance footage released the previous week depicts a individual wearing a half‑style helmet, a dark green jacket, dark pants and a face covering riding a white electric bicycle across a parking lot on the 7600 block of West Cheyenne Avenue, near North Buffalo Drive, before opening fire and striking the off‑duty officer. The Metro officer, whose identity has not been disclosed, was transported to a local hospital for surgery, police reported. The injured serviceman remained in stable condition, according to a press release.
