UNLV junior quarterback Anthony Colandrea is the program’s first signal-caller to win three Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week awards in a career, the league announced Monday.

Colandrea earned his latest recognition for his performance against Air Force on Saturday, completing 20 of 32 passes for 361 yards and a touchdown. He rushed for 62 yards and two scores — including a game-winning 19-yard run with 36 seconds to play in the 51-48 win.

His efforts also included an 86-yard touchdown pass to DaeDae Reynolds, the third-longest scoring strike in school history, the university said.

The Virginia transfer previously won the award in back-to-back weeks on Sept. 1 and 8. The last UNLV quarterback to earn three player of the week honors in any conference was Las Vegas native Jon Denton, who did so while competing in the WAC in 1996 and 1997.

First-place UNLV, riding a 6-0 start for the first time since 1974, has its most significant game of the season 12:30 p.m. Saturday when it faces host Boise State in a rematch of the last two league championship games. Both contests were won by Boise State.
