Lexington Trummell of Foothill’s volleyball team was voted the girls Nevada Preps Athlete of the Week.

Update, Sept. 18: Lexington Trummell of Foothill girls volleyball has been named the Las Vegas Review‑Journal girls Prep Athlete of the Week. Trummell received 78 votes, representing 86.7 % of the total. The other nominees garnered the following totals: Kimber Morrow of Shadow Ridge girls volleyball – 5 votes (5.6 %); Aleah Warner of Bishop Gorman girls soccer – 4 votes (4.4 %); Julia Anfinson of Faith Lutheran soccer – 3 votes (3.3 %). Ninety full votes were cast. This week’s ballot features four athletes who posted standout performances from Sept. 7‑12. - Julia Anfinson, Faith Lutheran soccer – The senior scored three goals Wednesday to lead the Crusaders to an 8‑1 victory over Shadow Ridge, preserving Faith Lutheran’s unbeaten record at 6‑0‑1. - Kimber Morrow, Shadow Ridge girls volleyball – The senior tallied 14 kills, seven digs and three service aces Tuesday in the Mustangs’ four‑set win over Coronado. She leads the team with 170 kills and 132 digs. - Lexington Trummell, Foothill volleyball – The senior recorded 21 digs, 15 kills and four aces to help the Falcons defeat Green Valley in five sets Tuesday. She tops Foothill with 135 digs and 26 service aces. - Aleah Warner, Bishop Gorman girls soccer – The sophomore netted three goals Wednesday as the Gaels rolled past Foothill 8‑0. Warner has 15 goals for Gorman, which stands at 10‑0 and is tied for first in the 5A Southern League at 3‑0. Voting closes at noon Thursday, with results scheduled for release Friday.
