A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car Sunday while crossing a street against a red signal, according to North Las Vegas Police. The driver left the scene without stopping, police said.
The incident was reported about 5:50 p.m. on Carey Avenue at Las Vegas Boulevard, police said.
The pedestrian, a man whose name was not released, entered the intersection against the red signal, police said. The car, headed west on Carey, hit the man, police said.
Officers found the man in the road suffering from head trauma, police said. He was taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s name, police said.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
